In no sense

“Childhood has its ways of seeing, thinking and feeling which are proper to it. Nothing is less sensible than to want to substitute our for theirs”. Jean-Jacques Rousseau, Julie, or the New Heloise, 1761.
In this work, Nicolas Paul choreographs a childhood evocation for the Junior Ballet Classique of the Higher National Conservatory of Music and Dance of Paris (CNSMDP).

Paul, Nicolas

Born in Strasbourg in 1978, Nicolas Paul studied at the School of Dance of the National Opera in Paris. He joined the corps de ballet of the Opera of Paris in 1996 and achieved the grade of “sujet” in 2002. Noticed for his performances in the classical and neo-classical repertoires (Rudolf Nureyev, George Balanchine, Roland Petit, John Neumeier, etc.), he has also worked with many contemporary choreographers (Pina Bausch, Jirí Kylián, Angelin Preljocaj, Jean-Claude Gallotta, etc.) and was honoured with the Cercle Carpeaux Dance Prize in 2001. Simultaneously to his career as a dancer, Nicolas Paul began choreographing in 2001.
His latest works include: Bubble (2007), Quatre figures dans une pièce (2007) and Répliques (2009).
