Whack!!
Whack !! is the representation of the following situation: two bodies colliding in space. The strategies are eclectic and funny but the commitment in the effort is always serious, brushing even irrational. Preventing the other, constrain him, forcing him to deploy ingenious and diplomatic maneuvers are all possible under the innocent gaze of a child, witnessing the endurance and the ability of man to face what an obstacle, as well as the absurdity of the need to surpass the other.

Chen, Ashley
Ashley Chen studied at the National Conservatory of Music and Dance in Paris from 1994 to 1999. After creating with Thomas Duchâtelet, he flew to New York in 2000 to join the Merce Cunningham Dance Company. He remained there four years, participated in five creations and danced in a dozen of pieces from the repertoire.
He then returned to France and joined the Ballet de l'Opéra de Lyon, where he performed pieces from choreographers like Christian Rizzo, Angelin Preljocaj, William Forsythe, Russel Maliphant, Mathilde Monnier and Trisha Brown.
In 2006, he left the Ballet to travel across Europe and various collaborations. He works with John Scott and Liz Roche in Dublin, Michael Clark in London, Jean-Luc Ducourt and Michele Ann de Mey in Brussels, Philippe Decouflé and Boris Charmatz in France.
In 2002, Ashley Chen choreographed We're all grown up now! At New York. A year later, he rides with Marisela Lagrave. I'm not a gurrel !!, video-dance filmed in the state of New York. In 2008, he created with the collective Loge 22 I meant to move à Lyon.
Ashley founded the company Kashyl in 2012 and mounted three shows in the wake: Habits / habits, in collaboration with Pierre Le Bourgois, Whack !! in collaboration with Philip Connaughton and Chance, Space and Time.

Connaughton, Philip
Philip is a choreographer/performer originally from Dublin. He began dancing locally and then went on to train at the Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance in London. As a choreographer, his first solo, Embody, was created during a residency at Movement Research (NYC), and since then he has been performing his work internationally. He was Associate Artist of Dance Ireland [2013/14] and Artist in Residence at Axis Ballymun [2012] where he created Mortuus Est Philippus for Dublin Dance Festival. In 2014, he formed Company Philip Connaughton and made a large-scale ensemble piece Tardigrade that won best design in the Tiger Dublin Fringe Awards. His lecture-performance Dance Uncovered (sensational) was featured in Dublin Dance Festival 2015. Following that, he created Whack!! in collaboration with Ashley Chen of Compagnie Kashyl in Paris in April. It just completed a very successful Irish and French tour, was performed at MOMA NYC in September 2016 and continues to tour throughout France in 2017/18 with upcoming performances at Maison de la Danse, Le Manège de Reims and La Briquetterie. In 2016, Philip was the proud recipient of the 16 x 16: Next Generation Bursary Award.

Plasson, Fabien
Born in 1977, Fabien Plasson is a video director specialized in the field of performing arts (dance , music, etc).
During his studies at the Ecole Nationale des Beaux-Arts de Lyon (joined in 1995) Fabien discovered video art. He was trained by various video artists (Joel Bartoloméo Pascal Nottoli , Eric Duyckaerts , etc) .
He first experimented with the creation of installations and cinematic objects.
From 2001 to 2011, he was in charge of Ginger & Fred video Bar’s programming at La Maison de la Danse in Lyon. He discovered the choreographic field and the importance of this medium in the dissemination, mediation and pedagogical approach to dance alongside Charles Picq, who was a brilliant video director and the director of the video department at that time.
Today, Fabien Plasson is the video director at La Maison de la Danse and in charge of the video section of Numeridanse.tv, an online international video library, and continues his creative activities, making videos of concerts, performances and also creating video sets for live performances.
