A Invenção da Maldade
Marcelo Evelin conceived the choreography of this new creation as an experience both born from doubt and open to accidents, confronted by the uprising of otherness set in resistance. While the piece was born from memories and reading, it is not actually set in a specific imaginary. After taking inspiration from Tatsumi Hijikata for his previous show Dança Doente, Marcelo Evelin is here shifting away from a referential approach, to keep only an uncertain virtuoso demonstration, whether it concerns choreography, interpretation or musical technique, in favour of a dramaturgy of failure, in a complete imbalance and disharmony. Together around a symbolic fire, dancers and objects become mingled or confront one another, forming an undifferentiated primitive horde. From wounds to healing, they initiate themselves together into pleasure and pain.

[1970-2018] Neoclassical developments: They spread worldwide, as well as having multiple repertoires and dialogues with contemporary dance.
In the 1970s, artists’ drive towards a new classic had been ongoing for more than a half century and several generations had already formed since the Russian Ballets. As the years went by, everyone defended or defends classical dance as innovative, unique, connected to the other arts and the preoccupations of its time.

Meeting with literature
Collaboration between a choreographer and a writer can lead to the emergence of a large number of combinations. If sometimes the choreographer creates his dance around the work of an author, the writer can also choose dance as the subject of his text.
