Pavillon
Ana Rita Teodoro’s two new works Plateau and Pavillon are part of a project she has been working on for several years: Délirer l’anatomie, a series of four choreographies centred on the body’s orifices (mouth, anus, nose, etc.) and on the organs that link inside and outside (intestines, lungs, stomach, etc.). Each performance in this project is devoted to a part of the body which, in isolation, becomes a poetic object. Ana Rita Teodoro’s work as a performer and choreographer crosses disciplines and draws on her research into palaeontology, anatomy, Chinese medicine and qi gong. This invariably results in fascinating and free pieces that explore and shift the function and fiction of the organs that she chooses to celebrate.
Pavillon
As well as being an organ for capturing sound, the ear structures our perceptions by creating a multi-dimensional cartography of space. Our auricle (pavillon in French) captures not only sounds but also silences, thereby making it possible to locate objects in space. Like a radar or a stethoscope, Pavillon also explores the labyrinthine vestibular (inner ear) that guides bodies in their relation to gravity and the weight of the world. Pavillon tries to capture inaudible languages and lets itself be guided by imperceptible movements.
Teodoro, Ana Rita
The Portuguese Ana Rita Teodoro has a Master from the CNDC in Angers and from the Université Paris 8, where she started working on her project Délirer l’anatomie, drawing on her scientific and philosophical studies. She recently received a grant
to study with Yoshito Ohno from the Fondation Calouste Gulbenkian and was
a recipient of the Aide à la Recherche et au Patrimoine en Danse from the CN D, to continue her research into butoh. She has choreographed the works MelTe, Orifice Paradis, Rêve d’intestin, and Assombro (Fantôme Méchant). Ana Rita Teodoro is an associate artist at the CN D.
Centre national de la danse, Réalisation
Since 2001, the National Center for Dance (CND) has been making recordings of its shows and educational programming and has created resources from these filmed performances (interviews, danced conferences, meetings with artists, demonstrations, major lessons, symposia specialized, thematic arrangements, etc.).

In all the arts and here especially in dance, the artist sometimes creates to defend a cause, to denounce a fact, to disturb, to shock. Here is a panorama of some "committed" choreographic creations.

In the 1970s, artists’ drive towards a new classic had been ongoing for more than a half century and several generations had already formed since the Russian Ballets. As the years went by, everyone defended or defends classical dance as innovative, unique, connected to the other arts and the preoccupations of its time.

Collaboration between a choreographer and a writer can lead to the emergence of a large number of combinations. If sometimes the choreographer creates his dance around the work of an author, the writer can also choose dance as the subject of his text.
