Entre soie
ENTRE SOIE is a participatory project born from the meeting between the Charonne Association, which supports women with addictive behaviors, and Magda Kachouche, in charge of creative projects with amateurs within the Contour Progressif company. During a so-called "break-up" stay, the patients and caregivers of the CSAPA (Center for care, support and prevention in addiction) meet. Accompanied and guided by Magda Kachouche, they share a week's time of artistic practice and protocols that are at the heart of the work of the Contour Progressif company. The first edition of the project, in 2017, was based on the choreographic protocols designed by Mylène Benoit for the show NOTRE DANSE (2014) and since shared with amateurs in several participatory creations "VOTRE DANSE".
ENTRE SOIE was based on the same questions: what dance would you take on a desert island? During the week, the women reflected together on the gestures and songs that brought them together, resembled them and represented them. They imagined their dances, that of their intimate ritornellos, their interior folklore: a language, a choral and sonorous dance, which comes from afar, as if drawn from a common background. This choreographic creation was nourished by the dances, songs, fictions and history of each of its participants and resulted in a documentary film directed by Charlotte El Moussaed and produced with the help of the DGCA.
A second edition of the project will take place in April 2021.
Kachouche, Magda
Magda Kachouche focuses on a multidisplinary artistic research, between performing and contemporary art. She is artistic collaborator of the French choreographer Mylène Benoit, she works especially with her on Notre danse, L’Aveuglement and La Maladresse. She works with her on the conception of the « Mouvement de la pensée », in situ projects and installations. She’s in charge of the mediation sector and participatives creations of the danse company. She is plastic artist and works in the duo MKNM with Noémie Monier since 2015. They are resident in the space of artistic production DOC in Paris. She develops a work of creation light for various companies, and also collaborates as outside look. Trained in the dance (contemporary and classic) and graduate of a Master of contemporary literature in 2007, she begins as journalist in the magazine Movement between 2007 and 2009. She leads then a career of press attaché within the agency MYRA (from 2010 till 2014), specialized in the contemporary creation (live performance, music, contemporary art). She sharpens her artistic look there by accompanying artists from whom she defends the work, just like Mylène Benoit whom she meets in 2010.
El Moussaed, Charlotte
She graduated from the National School of Beaux-Arts in Paris in 2013. In 2014, she was awarded the “Looking for Paris-Texas” scholarship, awarded by the United States Embassy and the association of Friends of Beaux-Arts, she then spent 3 months in Chicago. She received the “Photographic Impressions 2015” prize, awarded by Les Ateliers Vortex in partnership with the Consortium of Dijon and the Regional Council of Burgundy; this prize earned her an exhibition at the Frac Bourgogne in Dijon. Between 2013 and 2017 she collaborated with Le Bal / La Fabrique du Regard on the program of educational workshops. In 2016 she was one of the three winners of the YISHU 8 Prize, her solo exhibition: Composé Oisif was held at YISHU8, Beijing House of the Arts, after three months of residency. Selected at the 61st Salon de Montrouge in 2016, she exhibited there again in 2017 for the peripheral event of the show: Répliques Imaginaires. She is a speaker artist at the CAC Gallery in Noisy-le-sec from September 2018 to June 2019. In 2019 she entered the Master 2 Documentary creation at the documentary school of Lussas. In 2020, she will produce: "Comme notre langue s'écrit au sol".
Contour progressif
The company Contour progressif was founded in 2004 by Mylène Benoit, visual artist and choreographer. Her creative approach is based on a choral writing, which mixes dance, song, sound material, light vibration, optical or textual elements. The company has a dozen works in the repertoire, including 4 premieres in 2018 with a Sujet à Vif at the Avignon Festival designed with puppeteer Julika Mayer. The next creation, Archée, will be premiered in July 2021 at the Avignon Festival. The work of the company Contour progressif is innervated by an artistic and political commitment that expresses itself beyond the “spectacular” device. It is a collaborative and protean project, which is updated in artistic productions as much as through the active presence of artistic collaborators in different territories (meetings with the public and practical internships, conferences, creations with amateurs, companionship in high schools , research, technological watch and pooling of creative tools). Mylène Benoit was an associate artist at LePhare - CCN du Havre Normandie until December 2018, in long residency at l'Echangeur / CDCN Hauts-de-France from 2016 to 2018. She was a laureate of the Villa Kujoyama in 2017. She is an associate artist at the Théâtre du Beauvaisis, national stage, and at the national stage of Le Mans, Les Quinconces / L'Espal. The Progressive Contour Company is approved by the Drac Hauts-de-France, and supported by the Hauts-de-France Regional Council as aid for the program of activities.

Association Charonne
The Charonne association has existed since 1972. It is deeply rooted in the social and medico-social landscape of Paris. Over the years, the association has implemented various actions and experiments in the service of people with addictive behaviors (drugs, alcohol, substance-free addictions, etc.) It has adapted to the successive problems with which these audiences have been confronted: health problems, rejuvenation of usage experiences, precariousness of the people concerned. It has developed specific actions around related issues: prostitution behavior, exclusion linked to migration situations. Today, the association participates in prevention, risk reduction, care and integration actions aimed at improving the health of these populations and their social autonomy, this by delegation of public service (Regional Health Agency - ARS - and Regional and Interdepartmental Directorate for Accommodation and Housing - DRIHL).

Western classical dance enters the modernity of the 20th century: The Ballets russes and the Ballets suédois
If the 19th century is that of romanticism, the entry into the new century is synonymous of modernity! It was a few decades later that it would be assigned, a posteriori, the name of “neo-classical”.
The committed artist
In all the arts and here especially in dance, the artist sometimes creates to defend a cause, to denounce a fact, to disturb, to shock. Here is a panorama of some "committed" choreographic creations.

Meeting with literature
Collaboration between a choreographer and a writer can lead to the emergence of a large number of combinations. If sometimes the choreographer creates his dance around the work of an author, the writer can also choose dance as the subject of his text.
