Juanjo Arques received his dance training in his hometown of Murcia, Spain. Before moving to the Netherlands in 2004, he spent five years as a soloist with Ballet Victor Ullate in Madrid, and four years as a soloist with English National Ballet. In 2004, Mr. Arques joined Dutch National Ballet as a Grand Sujet, and three years later he was promoted to Soloist. Dancing with this three companies enabled him to perform the variety of works by notable choreographers ranging from classical to neoclassical, including William Forsythe, Christopher Wheeldon, Alexei Ratmansky, David Dawson, Hans van Manen. After choreographing several pieces for choreographic workshops, he made Minos, his first ballet for Het National Ballet, in 2010. Following the success of Minos, Mr. Arques was ask to choreograph Consequence for the 50th anniversary of the company in 2012.
In recent years he has received international commissions such as Miniatures for Slovenian National Ballet, Unsound for Compañia Nacional de Danza, Madrid, Crossroads for WimWhim, Seattle. His latest works Roulette (2014), Rewind (2014), Carolingians (2014) Blink (2015), Bites (2015) have premiered in Holland, Belgium and Switzerland by Dutch National Ballet, April (2015) for the New York Choreographic Institute and #Boogie (2015) for Continuum Contemporary Ballet in New-York.

Altin Kaftira (born 1972 in Albania) is a former dancer with the Dutch National Ballet in Amsterdam, Netherlands. He danced with the Ballet from 1995 on, and from 2000 to 2007 was the Ballet's principal dancer (working with choreographers such as Hans Van Manen, Rudi van Danzig, Jerome Robbins, Alexei Ratmansky, Christopher Wheeldon and Ted Brandsen), and has danced in almost a dozen George Balanchine ballets. In 2007, he left to pursue a career as a filmmaker. One of his first film assignments was the production and direction of the 75th anniversary gala for Hans van Manen.

In 2002 the then-president of Albania, Rexhep Meidani, awarded Kaftira with the title of Art Ambassador of the Nation. In an interview with Kaftira just before his retirement, Dutch critic and writer Herman Stevens, in an article in the Dutch magazine HP / De Tijd, called him a favorite audience, a star possessing the most charisma of any dancer at the National Ballet.
